A new vision

I have come been fighting working full-time for the corporate world for over a decade now. Having come to fully realize I will never be satisfied with the traditional 8-5 in an office I decided to pursue going back to school to become a writer, and graphic and web designer so I could work freelance from home.  I have also come to realize that there are afew things in this life that I’m truly passionate about and that if I’m doing what I am passionate about then I’m not living my life to the fullest.  So right now I work 3 part-time jobs that equal more hours than one full-time job but I am enjoying and supporting myself and its so worth it.  My day job gives me steady income and I work with great people that I love.  My other two side projects give me diversity and unpredictability as well as income.  One is super easy and I make lots of money just doing almost nothing.  The other is selling products I truly love for a company I believe in.  (Ask me for more details or to schedule your very own relaxing, indulgent Girl’s or guy’s night in!!!, Yes I had to plug myself, but wait…there’s more plugging to come...did I just say that, that sound sick. EEWWW) Lol…

Which brings me to my secret side project number 4: Hoopdancer. After having rekindled my passion for the hoop, I have decided I want to become professional, dance at parties, and become an instructor.  I just found out the classes I want to take from the amazing Cristabel Zamore, just happen to be in San Francisco.  So my goal is to go there for Spring Break to see Hiram’s brother Jeremiah, my cousin Dan, and the beach of course, but also to take me some hoopdancing classes in one of my favorite cities! YAYE!

And that ultimately leads into the inspiration that unfolded before me today.

*please pronounce that like your speaking Spanish for the full appeal a’ite*

We are creating a party to have some fun and raise some $$$.  Smoke-free in a cool location such as our friend of a friend’s warehouse/club.

My sexy boyfriend is going to DJ because he gets and plays the best music ever. It’s new, its underground, you probably don’t know it but I bet you will dig it,  its electronic and it is guaranteed to rock your mother fucking socks off!

I am going to hoopdance my little hear tout.

We are going to create art for flyers and have a website (most likely on myspace).

We are going to collaborate with other friends who are DJ’s, dancers, producers, and peeps that put on rave’s and parties here in Utah to make this vision come in to play and bring their talent to the table as well.

The goal, is to make our vision manifest into reality, to raise some money, get exposure and most importantly have an amazing time with amazing people.  So if you are interested in helping us with putting on this party, Holla! And if not, we hope you will show your support by telling everyone you know, attending the party and making a donation to our cause!  ***(Word, we may start with a few smaller practice parties first before we launch or full scale super-party!)

A few things we need right off the bat:

Location: (Nate??)

Equipment:

Other Dj’s artists, musicians, dancers, artists, promoter’s etc, especially any of you who have done this before.

And most of all a lot of LOVE and support!!! YAYE!!!

I don’t know how long it will take for this vision to manifest itself, but as the time draws nearer and the pieces of this puzzle start fitting together we will start spreading the world to all y’all so you can help us spread the word and so on and so forth.

Thank you inspiration.

This is what happens when I’m in the hoop.  I dream, and I realize how to make my visions reality.  When I was moving to Hawaii I had a vision much like this of what I was supposed to bring to the island..but alas that didn’t work out. But I get to bring that vision to reality here, in my home, where I was born and raised, in my network of amazing friends and family, and frankly, what could be better than that!

I hope you will come from all over those of you not local for our super party mania! YAYE!
